Just a few kilometers from our home/studio in Camaiore is a restaurant that we’ve passed many times on our way to the sea; now we know better.
Ristorante Il Campagnolo was a very pleasant surprise. Recommended by merchants in the nearby Capezzano Pianore Tuesday market, we gave it a try, and are glad we did.
The interior is cozy and deceptively spacious, with nooks, crannies and a nice garden. On this cool, late November day we sat comfortably inside.
The menu was classic but by no means limited. We shared the Pappardelle ai funghi, Tagliata di manzo al basilico and Verdure miste fritte. All VERY good. And to top it off we enjoyed a wonderful whiskey-based dessert (the name of which I forgot immediately). Oh, and let’s not forget the ice-cold Limoncello, on the house.
Il Campagnolo is known for its seafood but I’m looking forward to next trying the piazza – Can’t wait!
Open for lunch and dinner.
